         This Course aims to familiarize participants with commercial catering practices and industry standards to complement and enhance existing cooking/catering skills. Hotel Management courses offer feasible career opportunities to the youth today. Thus, hotel management is very popular as a career course. Hotel industry is a closely related one to the tourism industry. A number of factors like encouragement of tourism and quick industrial progress have given an enhancement to hoteliering. With recent globalization and liberalization, career opportunities in this field are not only unlimited within the country but there are chains of hotels which operate internationally providing scopes for a career abroad. It is a glamorous profession which has bright future. With the development of hotel industry pushed by foreign and domestic tourism and business travel, the demand for well trained quality personnel has also increased.






Globally, this industry offers a wide spectrum of employment opportunities from highly trained managers, specialized chefs, sales and marketing wizards to guest relations executives in sectors like hotels,resorts, restaurants, industrial catering, airline, shipping and passengers cruise industry, hospitals, educational institutions etc



Job Prospects 

 

     Lot of well-paid and interesting openings are there for hotel management graduates in various fields like: hotel and restaurant management , airline catering and cabin services, club management, cruise ship hotel managements, hospital administration and catering, hotel and tourism associates, forest lodges, guest houses, Institutional Managements (Supervising canteens in college, schools, in factories, company guest houses etc.), catering departments of railways, banks, armed forces, shipping companies, hotel and catering institutes and self employment.


Eligibility Criteria

 

        Bsc.Hotel management and Catering Science is a degree level courses, Duration of this course is 3 year. You should have passed HSC(+2) or Diploma in any stream.




Disadvantages

           Normally Bsc.Hotel Management and catering Science is a degree level course but this program have some limitation. The main limitation of this course is you will never get job in IT sector or banking sector. As well as this course is not equal to other degree course such as Bsc computer science or Bcom. etc.. Also this course have no many higher study options. But i wish you to take this course if you have interest in  cooking.and in my words this course is not suitable for girls. but for a change girls go ahead if you like this profession
